Skylight shades

They are wonderful. Very easy to install.
I wish I could put them in all of my windows.

It works!

We chose the solar powered option, not wanting to deal with a power source or manually moving the shade. Installation was difficult because of the skylight angle it was difficult to get it level, but once it was installed it was awesome. A few cracks of light peak through around the edges of the frame, but the shade itself is blackout! For a solar powered skylight shade with remote, this was the only option we found and I am happy to say it worked out for us.

Great shade with 3 areas of improvement

Received my custom size shade today and completed its installation. It is great looking and working well so far. I would improve the following 3 items:
1. Device cannot be added to Apple Home.
2. T-Shade panel came without pre drilled holes and I made a mess drilling through the metal.
3. When the T-shade panel is in place you no longer have access to the motor's programming button. If you make the slightest mistake you have to go up there and remove this panel just to reprogram the shade.

Other than that I like it.

Excellent product with great price!

Overall this product is very well made and easy to control once you figure out how all the settings work. My unit (with a solar charger and WIFI controller) is installed on a skylight. I have it scheduled to shut and open when the sun is over the skylight. The price with the solar charger and the WIFI controller is considerably lower than competitors.

Couple of recommendations when installing:
1. Make sure to charge the motor unit before installation. Despite having the solar charger, it did not have enough power to operate the motor. I had to use a battery bank to power and charge it while I was installing it.
2. Remove the limiter setting according to the instruction. The setting only allowed the unit to close about 6 inches before stopping (at least for my unit). This was the most frustrating part of the installation. Once it was removed, I was able to set the lower and upper limit.

Couple of recommendations to the manufacturer:
1. Would love to see an overwrite option in the app, that skip the closing schedule if the weather forecast is cloudy.
2. Include a written installation manual with numerical steps, including steps for setting up the motor and WIFI controller (with QR links to the videos).

Nice Shades

A quality custom product. As long as you can measure, you can have these made. Only took a couple weeks to get and they installed easily per the instructions. They function well and lower the temperature in our bathroom considerably in the summertime when the sun beams in thru our skylight all day long.
I would say Kurlax is a quality product and well priced for a custom made unit. It also came packaged very well, with no damage.
