Familiarize components of the Kurlax Motorized Skylight Shades
Take time to familiarize yourself with the various parts of the motorized skylight shades. Lay out all components on the floor, referring to the image below to ensure you have everything you need and understand how each piece fits together.
Measuring the Mounting Points
Step 1: Measuring U-shaped Rail Mounting Points
Measure and mark the mounting points for the U-shaped rail at the top of the skylight. If there is no gap, install it close to the window frame.
Tips: If you want the skylight shades to close from bottom to top, please install the U-shaped rail on the top of the window frame.
Step 2: Measuring Power Rail Mounting Points
Measure the mounting points of the two power rails on either side of the skylight. Mark them with a marker. If there is no gap, simply install it close to the window frame.
Step 3: Installing U-shaped Rail
Step 4: Installing Power Rail
Insert the 2 power rails into the U-shaped rail. Tip: Please note that the label number on the power rail corresponds to the label number on the U-shaped rail. Drill holes at the marked points of the power rail and fix them with screws.Step 5: Installing Solar Panels
If you've bought solar panels, make sure they're installed where they get plenty of sunlight.Step 6: Installing the Top Rail
Adjust the sliders in the left and right power rails to stagger them horizontally for easier sunshade installation. Insert the sliders of the left and right power rails into the square holes at both ends of the fabric traction rod. Push the top rail to the top position opposite the U-shaped rail. Tip: The top rail must be clamped tightly to the gearbox to prevent it from falling off.Step 7: Installing the Motor and Rope Reel
Attach the motor to the T-section of the power rail and connect the winding mechanism if it's included. Reel the cord around the spool and tighten the winding mechanism if it's included. Insert the connecting strip into the hole of the power rail and lock it together with the rope reel (if it's included) and the main shaft of the motor.Step 8: Installing the T-shape Blackout Panel
Put the T-shape blackout panel cover on the top rail, then drill holes and secure it with screwsStep 9: Test Operation
Before finalizing the installation, test the motorized skylight shades to ensure they open and close smoothly. Make any necessary adjustments to the fit or operation.Step 10: Finalize and Enjoy
Once you're satisfied with the operation, make any final adjustments to the fit and appearance. Enjoy your new motorized skylight shades, which not only offer a touch of modern luxury but also enhance your home's energy efficiency. Conclusion
Installing motorized skylight shades is a project that combines technology with practicality. By following the steps above, you can enjoy the benefits of natural light control and home automation.
